Students to demand curbs on entry into MSU campus

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, March 11: Two students of the girls hostel were reportedly harassed late on Wednesday night by two motorists.

These students have not lodged any complaint with the police.

However, the students with the former General secretary of student' union, Prakash Verma, have decided to submit a memorandum to the Vice-Chancellor of M S University Anil Kane, on Friday. The students have demanded that there should be either better security at the main gate or the administrative authorities should restrict the entry of the outsiders into the campus.

One of the students, Anita Mehta (not her real name) said, ``These girls were standing outside the main gate of the campus and two boys who appeared to be drunk used abusive words on these girls.''

Mehta said that since it was nearly at the time of the roll call of the hostel hence not many of them were standing out. Another student Sumita Sinha (not her real name) who was also present at the time of the incident claimed, ``These two boys came on their motorbikes and we assumed that they would be the visitor of some student in the hostel.''

Sinha added that they pretended to go in but all of a sudden they came closer to these girls and passed some comments. Sinha claimed that the students tried to contact the security at the gate but they too were unable to tackle these boys.

``There was no security guard inside, they were there only at the main gate,'' said Sinha. ``The security at the main gate was also unable to tackle these boys and before further action of informing the wardens or anything could be taken, the miscreants had already gone,'' said Sinha.
