Thane hotel fire: Anticipatory bail granted to builder

MUMBAI, MARCH 7: The Thane Additional Sessions Judge B S Wasekar granted anticipatory bail to a builder and one of the directors of a company which took on lease their first floating hotel in Asia Abhiruchi which was destroyed in a fire on February 26. The judge who admitted the application of Ganesh Shyam Balkrishna Jathar (62), one of the directors the company to whom the Thane Municipal Corporation had let out the premises ordered that in the event of his arrest Jathar should be released on a bail of Rs. 20,000. The judge also directed Jathar who is ailing on account of renal failure and undergoing daily dailysis should not leave the country without the court's permission.
