Mumbai-based Dawood man nabbed in Hyderabad

MUMBAI, March 7: Task force sleuths in Hyderabad in association with the Mumbai police arrested a close aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim there last night. Saghir Ahmed Shaikh alias Saghir, was nabbed accepting ransom from a city-based jewellery at merchant at Road no 1, Banjara Hills last night.Saghir Ahmed is wanted by the Mumbai police and is rated among the top 10 henchmen of the Dawood gang, police said. His local contact person, Syed Javed of Bahadurpura has also been taken into custody. Police also recovered a .38 revolver, five rounds of ammunition, gelatin sticks with detonators, a cellular phone and a scooter from Saghir. He was handed over to the Charminar police.
