Youth Cricket Club post 8-wicket win

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, May 25: Kushwant Singh's knock of 36 runs enabled Youth Cricket Club, Derabassi beat Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) by eight wickets in the ninth Bathany Cup Cash prize cricket tournament at the CRPF ground, Ramdarbar.

DYFI won the toss and elected to bat. After a good start, the middle order crumbled against Goldi Prahsar's spell. But Chandan Singh (31) and Jagat (21), brought the team back on the winning track. However, tailenders again fumled and the team was back to the pavilion for a paltry score of 114 runs in the allotted 20 overs.

Prashar claimed three wickets. For YCC Kushwant hit five sixes in his knock of 36 runs in 11 balls to steer his team to victory.

Opener bastman Rajinder Singh (36 not out) and Inderjeet (22) also contributed to the team total.

Sunil and Anil got one wicket each.
