VADODARA, May 25: The city did not figure in the top 10 positions in the results of the Higher Secondary (Science) examinations, which were declared on Monday. The pass percentage in the city was 56.18 per cent, with Disha Shah of Alembic Vidyalay topping the list with 90.92 per cent.Sharing the honours with Disha were Yashpal Jadeja of Experimental School (90.76 per cent) and R Unnikrishnan of IPCL School with 90.15 per cent.The top 10 positions in the city, ranging between 90.92 per cent and 88 per cent, were shared by 14 students, four of whom were from Alembic Vidyalay.
IPCL School and Rosary School had two students each in the top 10.Of the three zones of the Vadodara city, Sayaji ganj produced the highest pass percentage of 63.9 per cent, followed by Mandvi (49.47 per cent) and Raopura (46.55 per cent).
Vadodara district performed comparatively better than the city, with Chhotaudepur recorded a pass percentage of 86.08 per cent, followed by Borsad (69.8 per cent), and Dahod and Dabhoi (42.92 per cent and 40.21 per cent respectively).
Language subjects seem to have been the drawback of the city's students; the average of the science subjects places Tejas Patel of Alembic Vidyalay (98.22 per cent) second in the state. Amar Panchal, Yashpal jadeja and Ritesh Gulbani together share the ninth position in the science subject average.
