Dravid, Bharadwaj shine

BANGALORE, February 14: Railways contained former champions Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy cricket Super League match at the KSCA Stadium on Saturday.

Test star Rahul Dravid (65: 10x4) and Vijay Bharadwaj were the saving grace of the home team. Karnataka were 272 for five, with Vijay Bharadwaj (63: 132 b, 10x4) and Anil Kumble (21) at the crease.

Dravid took over after Somasundar's dismissal. The elegant right-hander came into his own with some scintillating drives on either side of the wicket. Vijay Bharadwaj matched him for precision driving.Dravid and Bharadwaj added 91 runs in just 27 overs before Dravid became Parida's third victim of the day. Karnataka rested Javagal Srinath and left out batsman HT Girish Rao from the playing eleven and included David Johnson and Doddanarasiah Ganesh in.
