BANGALORE, February 14: Meerut professional Jyoti Randhawa brought his love affair with the Classic-Karnataka Golf Association to a triumphant conclusion winning the Classic Masters golf tournament with a day's best score of four-under par 68 in the final round on Saturday.Randhawa's effort took his total after four rounds to 274 with Amritinder Singh messing up his aggregate with a three-over par 75 to finish a distant second at 283. Pre-tournament favourite Arjun Atwal and Arjun Singh shared the third position with scores of 284 each.
Going into the final round with a lead of two strokes over Amritinder, Randhawa played sensibly taking his chances only when he was ideally positioned for a birdie. Even the bogey on the seventh hole came more because of misfortune, the ball rolling off the cup of the hole after the well-measured shot.
Randhawa was forced to share the cheque for the best round of the day with Delhi's Amit Chopra.
Amritinder, who was only two strokes behind Randhawa at the end of thepenultimate round, had birdies on the fifth, eighth and the ninth which wiped out the bogeys on the second and the ninth to finish on par at the end of the onward journey. In his return journey, he double-bogeyed the 10th and the 18th which forced to finish his day at three-over 75 despite the birdie on the 11th.
