VHP's renewed campaign for temple flayed

[Details] The West Bengal Assembly yesterday unanimously adopted a motion under rule 185 moved by the government chief whip Rabin Mondal condemning the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's renewed efforts to build the temple on the disputed Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid structure. The motion, which was adopted unanimously by all the parties in the Assembly, gave clear hints that the Bharatiya Janata Party would be the sole enemy in the wake of an election.

Patel for fresh talks on boundary row

[Details] Karnataka Chief Minister J H Patel yesterday said that he was prepared to discuss afresh the vexed Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary row with his Maharashtra counterpart Manohar Joshi. Patel said he would have a second round of talks with Joshi and prior to this Chief Secretaries of both the States will have a preparatory meeting on the issue.

Chautala links Bansi, big-wigs to bus scam

[Details] Haryana opposition leader Om Prakash Chautala yesterday alleged that relatives and persons close to Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal and other top functionaries of the HVP-BJP government had cornered Rajasthan's share of inter-state bus permits in an illegal manner. Claiming that he had details of 49 permits, Chautala said 26 of these had gone to the chief minister's relatives.
