State ministers "on poll" duties; to contest for sugar co-op
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NASHIK, Nov 17: Two ministers of the Manohar Joshi government, Health Minister Dr Daulatrao Aher and Minister of State for Rural Development Tukaram Dighole, are camping in Nashik district to participate in sugar cooperatives polls in their areas. Aher has been in Kalwan for the last fortnight to participate in the elections of the Vasantdada sugar cooperative at Deola. The polls are scheduled for November 21 and Dr Aher has made it a prestige issue to oust the existing chairman of the cooperative, Shantaramtatya Aher, who is an MLC. Aher has sought the help of Bharatiya Janata Party JP leaders for his campaign. Last week, his cabinet colleague Eknath Khadse visited Kalwan and promised better irrigation facilities for sugar cane growers.
