BHA chief hands in resignation
Express News Service
November 17: Baptist D'Souza, president of the Bombay Hockey Association, handed in his resignation today. D'Souza cited personal reasons for his decision which comes after a 15- year tenure as BHA chief. ``Times have changed and I want to set an example by giving a younger person the chance to take charge,'' D'Souza, 68, told The Indian Express. D'Souza refuted notions that the current crisis in Mumbai hockey, which sees a rival body vie for power, had anything to do with his decision. A meeting will be held tomorrow at the BHA which will decide on D'Souza's successor until elections next year.
