PUNE, Aug 20: A German national, who had been undergoing 10 years' imprisonment for drug trafficking at the Yervada jail here, had allegedly committed suicide on Monday.

The prisoner, Marquis Plaque Andrews, slit his throat with a blade, which was smuggled inside the barrack on Sunday, Inspector General of Police M G Naravane said. He said the prisoner, who was sentenced in 1995, was depressed due to the long term imprisonment.
