JOHANNESBURG, AUG 20: One of the murderers of former African National Congress and communist party leader Chris Hani has refused to apologise for the assassination and says he feels no remorse.

Clive Derby-Lewis, a former leader of the conservative party who is in a life prison term for murder, has applied to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) for amnesty. His co-conspirator, Polish immigrant Janus Wallus, has also applied for amnesty. Hani was shot dead by Wallus on Easter Saturday in 1993. The two right-wingers plotted the murder of Hani and other ANC leaders, including President Nelson Mandela.

They were, however, arrested before they could implement their plans against other leaders.
