Ford sells 110 Mondeo, 3,725 Ikon units in Dec

Chennai, Jan 7: Ford India Ltd has sold 110 Mondeo cars during December, the first month of its launch. The company has also sold 3,725 Ikons in December pushing up the cumulative sale to 67,835 units since November 1999.

It is also participating in the ‘Auto Expo 2002’, to be held between January 15- 22. The company will be showcasing some of its exciting range of models during the event, for the first time in India, according to a statement issued by the company.

The December sales have shown a 43.5 per cent growth over the corresponding period of the previous year and about 15 per cent increase over sales in November 2001.

In the calender year 2001, Ford India has registered a total sales of 43,341 Ikons which includes 15,211 Ikons sold in the domestic market besides export sales of 28,130 Ford Ikon CKDs.

"Ford Ikon is leading the mid-size segment while, our latest product offering, the Mondeo has begun to create an impact winning rave reviews across the country. We are all set to create yet another success story", claimed general manager (Sales), Ford India Sumeet Yadav.
