Fed rates may head south: Expert

Kolkata, Jan 4: Mr Robert Rogowsky, director (operations) of United States International Trade Commission (ITC), on Friday said Federal Reserve rates were likely to go south in the immediate future.
ITC is the prime agency for carrying out independent economic research for the American government.

Speaking to reporters here Friday, the ITC official said that as the US economy was slowing down, it was anticipated that Fed rates could fall a little to provide a fillip to the sagging growth engine.
He said that the IT and aviation sectors were badly suffering from recession at the moment.

In this context, he said that if the recession in the US economy continued, then it would affect other world markets as well.
