Exports send out some good news as Apr-Nov 01 growth inches up 0.5pc
  After almost a continuous slide up to October 01, exports recovered marginally by recording a positive, though a meagre 0.5 per cent, growth during the April-November period this fiscal.
STD rate cuts may see Rs 75cr service tax erosion this fiscal
  The STD rate cut announced by BSNL will not only affect the revenues of the telecom company, but also the service tax collections of the government.
   
Finally, foodgrain may move freely among states
  In A bid to free the inter-state movement of foodgrain and agricultural produce, the government is contemplating amendment to the Essential Commodities Act making it an emergency provision to be formally invoked by a notification for a limited period of time.
Revise costs before fixing new fert pricing period: Ficci
  Ficci has, in a letter to finance minister, proposed that all costs be properly updated in line with current costs while fixing the seventh pricing period for the fertiliser industry, as this was particularly relevant in respect of issues like norms for capacity utilisation, energy intake, consumption of net assets, and determination of working capital.
