JSPL, NKK Corp in tech deal for rails

New Delhi, Dec 10: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) signed a technical collaboration agreement with NKK Corporation of Japan for producing the world’s largest rails at its rail and universal beam mill project at Chhattisgarh.

JSPL is setting up a $100 million rail and universal beam mill project as part of its forward integration programme to cater to the growing demand of railways and construction industry.

The agreement, signed by JSPL managing director Naveen Jindal and NKK director Katsutoshi Kosaka in Japan, envisages that the Japanese company would transfer know-how for producing the world’s longest rails of 120 metres and universal beam of larger size.
