GACL Nov dispatches up 15 per cent

Mumbai, Dec 3: Gujarat Ambuja has registered a 15 per cent increase in dispatches for November at 6.12 lakh tonne (lt) as against 5.32 lt for the same month last year. Cement production has also registered a significant increase at 6.10 lt for the month as opposed to 5.24 lt for November last.

The company had recorded dispatches at 5.70 lt for October this year, which was also a 7.1 per cent increase over 5.32 lt over October 2000. Production also increased by eight thousand tonne at 5.53 lt for the month.

Cumulative figures for July-November for the current fiscal also reveal the current upturn in the cement sector. Dispatches stood at 2.639 million tonne (mt) for the period, a 12 per cent rise over the 2.35 mt in the same period last year.
