Lalit Suri soothes workers’ fears at ITDC Bangalore

New Delhi, Nov 20: Promoter of Bharat Hotels Lalit Suri, assured the employees of ITDC Ashoka Hotels, Bangalore, that they will be retained even after a year if willing to work efficiently and improve the work culture. The employees of Ashoka Hotel, Bangalore, had gone on strike yesterday following the Government’s decision to lease the management contract of the hotel to Lalit Suri for 30 years.

“I am willing to retain all the 359 employees of the hotel, but I expect a better work culture for better running of the hotel,” Mr Suri said. “They need to understand that they will be working for a private sector company and not the Government,” Mr Suri said.
“I will be investing to rebuild the property and might accept new areas of work, which will require manpower. For that the company can reshuffle employees rather than appoint new people,” he
said.
