MSE to seek strategic FI investment if merger talks with BSE fail
  The Madras Stock Exchange would look for strategic investment by foreign and domestic financial institutions if its merger talks with The Stock Exchange, Mumbai failed to fructify in six months’ time.
Consolidate laws to protect investor interests: NSE review
  The protection of investor interests requires consolidation of all laws relating to the securities market into a single piece of legislation, preferably called the Securities Act, and assigning its administration to one agency, said a recent Review on Indian Securities Market conducted by the NSE.
   
Sensex surges 100 pts on software gains
  Bourses extended their gains on Monday on buying by speculators and FIIs, guiding the BSE 30 Sensex to surge 100.25 points to close at 3180.23 points, mainly led by solid gains in software stocks and index heavyweight Reliance Industries as slew of positive news poured in the market from both domestic and international fronts.
CBI questions sub-brokers in harshad case
  The CBI is questioning several sub-brokers in Mumbai in connection with the alleged illegal sale of shares worth several hundred crores by Big Bull Harshad Mehta and his two brothers and might soon place some of them under arrest, agency sources said here on Monday.
