Upasi weighs options to market tea via producers’ consortium
  The United Planters’ Association of Southern India is commissioning a study to look into the prospects of tea marketing through a consortium of tea producers.
Dull demand may drive methanol manufacturers to further price cuts
  Sluggish demand has forced methanol manufacturers to cut down their prices in the domestic market by around 30 per cent in September. The domestic situation is a bit better when compared with the international market where the prices have slumped by around 57 per cent.
Tea traders body sees exports falling below 175 m kg in 2001
  India's tea export is likely to fall below 175 million kg in the current year, according to the recent estimate of the Federation of All India Tea Traders’ Associations.
Bt cotton to be introduced after ascertaining impact
  Union agriculture minister Ajit Singh on Sunday said the controversial Bt cotton would be introduced only after ascertaining that the Genetically Modified crop had no adverse impact on environment and human health for which final round of trials are on.
