Cabinet to discuss McKinsey’s India recommendations today
  The Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has convened a special cabinet meeting on Tuesday to discuss amongst others the recommendations made by the McKinsey & Company in its report “India : The Growth Imperative” which was recently submitted to the prime minister.
Club shipping, road transport & highways ministries: ERC
  While an unwieldy coalition has forced a huge council of ministers on the nation, the government’s own Expenditure Reforms Commission has recommended combining the shipping ministry and the road transport and highways ministry into a surface transport ministry.
Panel suggests ministry for disaster management
  The high powered committee on disaster management has recommended creation of a separate ministry for disaster management at the Centre.
Govt, Tatas to sign sale pact for CMC today
  The government will sign the sale purchase agreement for the sale of CMC Ltd with Tata Sons on Tuesday. According to official sources, the shareholders’ agreement for CMC will be signed on October 16, when the government will also transfer management control to the Tatas.
