Protocol Telecom Solutions begins operations

City-based start-up Protocol Telecom Solutions (India) Pvt Ltd has announced the commencement of operations with a committed VC investment of $4 million. Of this amount, $1.2 million has already come in and will be invested in expanding operations. The company has been promoted by the former country manager of 3D Networks (India and Saarc) Mr Suresh Gundappa.

The company is also currently in talks with a US-based botique product development company, which develops components for computer telephony integration and integrated voice response for CRM software, to buy out the latter. Following the acquisition, Protocol is looking at productising the solutions and offering them across the Asian market. Addressing the media company CEO Mr Gundappa said the company would focus on providing turnkey contact centre solutions and network infrastructure solutions, with a heavy focus on the CRM sector. The company is also planning to set up a CRM centre of excellence by December 2001.

So far Protocol has already formed associations with leading players like Nortel Networks, Enterasys, Cincom, Dialogic, Checkpoint, etc., to provide the solutions to the companies.
