Hindujas to launch 24-hr news channel by year-end

Chandan Banerjee in Kolkata

The Mumbai-based Hinduja group will roll out its own 24-hour news channel called ‘IN TIME’, by the end of this year, according to cable TV industry sources here.

The Hindujas’ ‘IN CABLE’ is one of the multi-system operators or signal providers in Mumbai. As an MSO, the Hinduja group has a large national cable network covering five million households and the news channel would have an immediate access to these homes.

Meanwhile, New Delhi Television (NDTV) of Mr Prannoy Roy, the news and current affairs content provider for STAR News, will not be able to launch its entertainment channel, NDTV World, very soon.

Sources said the channel launch, which was supposed to be in March, was postponed to September. Now this has been delayed further.
