Zoom Technologies (India) Private Limited, engaged in emerging technologies such as integrated services digital network ISDN, wide area network (WAN) solutions, has introduced a new integrated services digital network (ISDN) connectivity, which reduces the communication/infrastructure cost by almost 90 per cent.

The new solution would revolutionalise the way the WAN connectivity of government organisations, banks, financial institutions, stock exchanges, corporate community, universities will happen in the near future, Mr M H Noble, director (sales and marketing), Zoom Technologies (India), said.

According to him, the conventional method of networking multiple points using routers and modems would be invetstment intensive and our technology based on ISDN will cut the implementation cost by about 90 per cent, Mr Noble pointed out.

To start with, the company has already implemented the solutions in 22 locations of the Stamps and Registration offices in Andhra Pradesh with a lesser investment of Rs 10 lakh against Rs 84 lakh in the conventional method, he said.

In the new solution, the deployment of a central router with two wide area network ports (2 mb each) and ISDN PRI would save around 90 per cent of the cost of traditional connectivity using the leased lines.

One 2-megabytes port of router will be connected to the Internet cloud for the Internet bandwidth and the stamps and registration offices across the state would connect to the central database server at Hyderabad using a ISDN connection with 128-k ISDN BRI channel, the company said.
