Global
coffee meet to focus on exports
Our Commodities Bureau in Bangalore
To sustain and increase coffee exports through supportive
measures at a time when the entire coffee industry is passing
through a crisis, the Coffee Board and United Planters’ Association
of Southern India (UPASI) are organising an international
convention on Indian coffee - ‘India International Coffee
Festival’—in Bangalore from Feb 15 to 17, 2002. The festival
is aimed at creating and establish an image and identity for
Indian coffee in global markets.
Further, Governor of Karnataka S Rama Devi launched the official
website of India International Coffee Festival - www.iicf2002.com,
which would provide information on variety of coffee products
and various events to be held during the festival.
The website will also facilitate the prospective delegates
from India and abroad to register online and also book the
exhibition space.
It will eventually have a webpage on frequently asked questions,
which arise through the year.
The India International Coffee Festival and exhibition would
display a wide variety of rich Indian coffee, display an array
of coffee processing machinery and retailing equipment.
It will also hold cupping sessions, international conference
with theme sessions, buyer-seller meets along with cultural
programmes.
