Mumbai, Aug 28: MAHINDRA & Mahindra Ltd (M&M)
has decided to upgrade 30 showrooms in the course of the next
three-four months. These showrooms are spread across India
and would be refurbished in line with the company’s desire
to go in for a whole new zanny look for its automotive division
showrooms.
According to M&M executive director and president (automotive
division) Alan Durante, “We would set path-breaking standards
in customer care. The design concept has been made keeping
the customer as the nucleus.
An executive in the showroom will offer all the services pertaining
to vehicle purchase at one point allowing a seamless and hassle-free
customer experience.”
Mr Durante was, however, tightlipped about the pricing of
M&M’s new urban utility vehicle - the Scorpio, which is
expected to be launched by the end of the year.
M&M inaugurated its first new look showroom in Mumbai
on Tuesday. The showroom would be managed by Mahindra Automotive
Specialities, a M&M subsidiary.
M&M vice-president (marketing) Rajesh Jejurikar said,
“The showroom depicts the brand values of sportiness, adventure
and technology. This symbolises Mahindra’s progression as
a maker of contemporary vehicles for urban markets. “He added
that the dealers would have to refurbish the dealerships according
to the new standards at their own cost.
Company officials also said that they were looking at the
possibility of launching a sport utility vehicle which would
be below the Rs 10 lakh mark.” It is a very niche segment
with low volumes so for it to succeed the vehicle would have
to be competitively priced “, they added. Hyundai has already
announced its plans of launching its SUV Santa Fe in India.
