Deshmukh seeks CII support on state policies

Mumbai, Aug 14: The Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Tuesday called upon the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to work towards obtaining national consensus on implementation of his government’s resolutions on captive power policy, amendments to the labour laws, adoption of account based octroi system and value added tax. Mr Deshmukh told the CII delegation led by its western region chairperson Anu Aga that his government has already taken up amendments to the Contract Labour Act, the MRTU & PULP Act and Maharashtra Private Security Guard Regulation.

The federation called upon the chief minister to restructure Maharashtra State Electricity Board, launch demand side energy management and distribution and implement captive power generation policy in the state.
