Bangalore, Aug 3: Every two minutes
—- 50 new users sign up for the i-mode in Japan, 400 new Internet
users log on around the world, 1,500 cellular phones are sold
around the world and Intel does $103,435 worth of business
over the Internet.
The chief of the world’s largest chip maker is clear on his
bet —- using the Internet as an engine for growth and estimates,
it to be the vehicle of choice for information access and
commerce in the months to come. Addressing a technology session
on leading the digital world, Intel Corporation president

market would continue to see investments in technology areas.
“Technological advancement does not recognise any slowdown
and companies should continue to focus on building their technology
base,” Mr Barret said. Commenting on the growth strategy for
the region, Mr Barret added that Intel had announced an investment
of $7.5 billion towards capital expenditure and $4 billion
