to exit M&A, equity advisory in India
BANK of America (BankAm) on Wednesday
stated that it will exit from certain specific investment banking activity,
namely mergers and acquisitions, and equity advisory. The bank will continue
to be an active player in quasi-equity, debt and structuring transactions.

advisory group for primary regulator
THE advisory group on banking supervision constituted by the Reserve Bank
of India (RBI) has recommended that the apex bank should consider the
desirability of introducing and participating in a scheme of formalised
coordination between different regulators.

of India has registered a 45.75 per cent growth in its net-profit to Rs
251.88 crore in 2000-2001, up from Rs 172.82 crore in the preceding fiscal.
The board of the bank has accepted the results on Wednesday and recommended
a 15 per cent dividend to the shareholders.

ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd is all set to
make a foray into the pension funds sector. According to managing director
Shikha Sharma, the market could expect one pension plan initially in the
next 6-8 weeks.

to float Rs 400-cr unsecured bonds
ICICI Ltd will come out with a Rs
400-crore unsecured redeemable bonds issue with a greenshoe option of
Rs 400 crore. The issue will open for subscription on June 11, 2001 and
will remain open till June 29.
