RCI launches travel company

Our Corporate Bureau

Chennai, June 6: RCI (Resort Condominium International) India Pvt Ltd has launched its travel company - RCI Travels Pvt Ltd - which will be headquartered in Mumbai. The timeshare vacation exchange company based in Bangalore has positioned the new company as a single window for travel related services for offering customised services to it members and non members.

This is unique in that India is the only market within the RCI network to have a separate travel company, said Mr Raju Shahani, managing director of RCI India Pvt Ltd. Globally, RCI offers its members travel services through its in-house travel club facilities.

The travel company’s services include cruise packages, car hire, hotel accommodation and coach tours. It will target inbound RCI exchanges by way of a basket of offerings to encourage them to extend their stay in India beyond just their timeshare exchange weeks at RCI affiliated resorts. Theywill be offered specially designed package tours to enable them to explore other parts of the country.

Managed by a team of professionals from the travel business, RCI Travels has Mr Tej Sahni, a veteran in the travel trade with 38 years of experience, as its advisor and director. The new company will leverage RCI’s experience and expertise in the leisure business for over 25 years to bring greater value to the travellers through a host of innovative packages and services, he said.

RCI India offers timeshare exchange services which allow timeshare owners to trade the holiday weeks they own for alternatives in over 37,000 of its affiliated resorts linked to the company’s global network in 100
companies.
