Tata Infotech profits rise 117.54%

Mumbai, June 6 : TATA Infotech Ltd (TIL) has posted an impressive 117.54 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 26.54 crore for the year ended March 31, 2001 as compared to Rs 12.20 crore last fiscal.

The board has recommended a 60 per cent dividend (35 percent in FY’00) subject to shareholders’ approval, TIL said in a release here on Wednesday.

The company’s total income was up by 21.12 per cent at Rs 523.62 crore for the reporting year as against Rs 432.31 crore for the previous year, it said adding growth in income and profits was driven primarily by overseas business.
