Amar Sinha quits Radico Khaitan, joins Shaw Wallace

Kavita K Bhaskaran

New Delhi, May 17: RADICO Khaitan’s chief executive officer (CEO) Amar Sinha will be bidding adieu to the company and joining Shaw Wallace as the head of the spirits division.

Mr Sinha is also the managing director (MD) of Whyte & Mackay, the joint venture between Radico Khaitan and Bacardi International.

The company is now planning to have two separate heads for Radico Khaitan and Whyte & Mackay India. Company sources confirmed that Mr Sinha had put in his resignation at Radico Khaitan and will be joining Shaw Wallace from June 1, 2001. Mr Sinha is expected to be relieved off his duties at Radico Khaitan within a week.

When contacted Mr Sinha confirmed that he was leaving Radico Khaitan and joining Shaw Wallace. He said the reason for change was better opportunities and growth.

This will be a major setback for Radico Khaitan at least when the company is going through a major expansion and restructuring plan.

A new CEO for Radico Khaitan and a managing director for Whyte & Mackay India will be appointed over the next few days.
