Framework to restrict agro imports to be ready by July

New Delhi, May 16: COME July, and the commerce ministry would be ready with the procedural framework required to restrict imports of agricultural commodities into the country.

Guidelines for an import risk analysis process, which all agricultural consignments will have to undergo to get an import permit, are being fine-tuned by the ministry and would be ready for use throughout the country by the beginning of July, director-general of foreign trade (DGFT) NL Lakhanpal told The Financial Express.
