RBI accepts 7 bids for Rs 18,160 cr at one-day repos auction
A surfeit of liquidity in the run-up to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) monetary review on April 19 saw the central bank accept seven bids for Rs 18,160 crore at its one-day repos auction on Wednesday. A perk up in liquidity has been witnessed since the beginning of this month with repos-outflows moving up from Rs 8,000 crore on end-March 2001 to its current levels. Reasons attributed to the same range from the ubiquitous winding down of window-dressing by banks, coupon payments, and purchase of dollars by the central bank.

NIOC to conduct feasibility study
THE National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has hired an international consultant for conducting a joint feasibility study on the viable route for the Indo-Iran gas pipeline project.

ICSI for mandatory compliance audit for listed corporates
THE Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has proposed compliance and secretarial audit mandatory for all listed corporates. The institute has written to the Department of Company Affairs (DCA) to look into the matter.

International consortium for gas pipeline suggested
PAKISTAN and Iran on Wednesday made a strong case for an onland gas pipeline from Iran to India via Pakistan by suggesting formation of an international consortium, with participation from Iran, India and Pakistan besides multilateral agencies for managing the pipeline.
