Canara Bank to set up vc fund

Bangalore, April 2: Canara Bank would set up a $25 million venture capital fund in partnership with the US-based Chase Manhattan Bank, and also would go public before Diwali this year, its CMD, RJ Kamath, said tonight. Addressing a news conference here, Mr Kamath said his bank was in talks with Chase Manhatten to establish the India-specific fund, which he expected to be in place in the next six months.
