Pepsi Foods exports to touch Rs 400 cr in 2001

Channo (Punjab), April 2: Pepsi Foods export turnover is expected to touch Rs 400 crore in the current year, the company's director-exports Mr Abhiram Seth told The Financial Express at the unveiling of the second phase of its soft drink concentrate manufacturing facility at Channo, in Punjab. The soft drinks major, currently, has annualised exports of Rs 300 crore which includes processed foods, basmati rice, guar gum and Pepsi concentrate. From its new soft drink concentrate facility, Pepsi plans to export soft drink concentrate worth Rs 40 crore. Built with an additional investment of Rs 22 crore, Pepsi's Channo plant phase-II - apart from catering to domestic requirements - will also explore the possibility of exporting concentrate to more countries in addition to its exports to Russia and other south Asian countries.The Channo plant, said Pepsi officials, is rated among the company's 13 leading concentrate plants worldwide and will soon supply to 50 plants all over the world.
