New Delhi, March 28: The 34 new entrants in the A group have witnessed a spurt in their prices. Volumes, too, have risen in several of these counters. The scrips have gained upto 30 per cent during the first two trading days after these scrips were transferred to the forward group on March 26.Importantly, most of them have witnessed heightened activity in a market where volumes are at its ebb. The list of top gainers included companies like Hinduja Finance, United Breweries, Sonata Software, Polaris Software and Max India. These scrips have spurted between 17 to 30 per cent in two trading days of March 26 and March 27.
Higher volumes, from March 26, were witnessed in scrips like Hughes Software, Hindustan Zinc, Trigyn Technologies, Hinduja Finance, Max India and Sonata Software. A shift from B to A group was expected to increase liquidity as the stocks can now be traded under borrowing and lending securities scheme (BLESS).
Hinduja Finance scrip topped the list with a gain of 30.18 per cent during the period. Its price rose from Rs 67.75 to touch Rs 88.20 on March 27. The scrip was quoting at Rs 94.25 as on March 28.
