Mr K Teckchandani took over charge of Cement Corporation of India as chairman-managing director on March 26. He was working with the Airports Authority of India as executive director. He replaces Mr MK Mittal, director, Bhel.Bill Clinton to stay at Taj
The former US President Bill Clinton will be staying at the Taj during his visit to India next week. He will be in India to help raise funds for American India Foundation (AIF) for Gujarat relief and rehabilitation.
HM despatches order
Hindustan Motors Ltd. has announced fresh dispatch for the second consignment of 24 All Road Trusted Vehicles (RTVs) to Bangladesh. The first consignment of 12 RTVs to Bangladesh was flagged off from the Pitampur Plant near Indore (MP) in November 2000. The second consignment will be dispatched to Bangladesh on March 29, 2001.
Lufthansa announces new schedule
Lufthansa Airlines has announced its new flight schedule effective March 25, 2001 with flights from Mumbai to Frankfurt every Wednesday instead of Thursday. The "Business Express" on Wednesday is intended to provide business travellers extra time during the working week and still enable them to return home for the weekend.
United Air to resume single carrier service
United Airlines has announced that it will resume `Round-the-World' service on April 1, 2001, becoming the only airline in the world to offer single-carrier service around the globe. The flights will link Washington DC, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Delhi and London, and will cover 19,705 miles.
Randy Shockley is new Ford VP
Mr Randy Shockley has taken charge of the marketing, sales and services responsibilities as vice president of Ford India. He succeeds over from Mr John Fink, who launched the Ford Ikon in 1999 and established the Ikon's leadership in this segment.
