Pugmarks willing to offload majority stake to strategic partner

New Delhi : In a bid to go global, Pugmarks InterWeb, a Web solutions and multimedia company based in Chandigarh, is seeking for a strategic partner. The promoters of the company are also ready to offer majority stake for a suitable partner.

While talking to The Financial Express, the chairman and managing director of Pugmarks, Mr Atul Gupta said: "We are open to strategic partnership from a US or Indian company which has a impressive clientale and can bring a lot of business value to Pugmark."

He added: "If the partner is is a perfect fit, we are even ready to offer majority partnership. We have done a lot of work in Internet design and development space and now need to market to the world. A company with a good track record, impressive client list and interest in entering Internet solutions space will be a perfect partner," said Mr Gupta.

Pugmarks is not looking for fund managers to sell its equity for raising funds, clarified Mr Gupta adding that the company will enter into an alliance only on solid business grounds.

Talking about the future plans of Pugmark, Mr Gupta said that the company will launch its new Intranet solutions and services in the next two months. The Intranet solutions will be targetted at the small and medium enterprises, and will cost Rs 5 lakh onwards depending on the features and depth of the implementation, he said.

The Intranet solution from Pugmark will include modules on employee information, customer support and Management Information System (MIS). The company also has plans to offer Intranet solutions under ASP model, added Mr Gupta.

Pugmarks, which was started in May 1996 as a Website design company, now offers e-commerce solutions, Web development and hosting solutions, database integration and management, application development and services in the areas of CRM and corporate messaging.
