Mumbai, March 26 : Bullion -- The Bombay Bullion market remain officially closed on Monday on account of "Gudi Padva". However, in the kerb trading, the volume was at a low ebb although traders reported scattered retail buying for precious metals in the show-rooms due to festival.Standard gold in the kerb trading was quoted higher at Rs 4,280/4,290 per 10 kg against official closing of Rs 4,270 recorded on Saturday. Prices of gold biscuit (116.50 gm) were quoted at Rs 50,150 per piece in the kerb trading against previous official closing of Rs 50,000. Silver .999 was quoted firm at Rs 7,325 per kg in the kerb as against previous official closing of Rs 7,310 amidst tight supplies from Gujarat coupled with encouraging global advices. Oil, oilseeds : The Bombay oil and oilseeds (ready and forward) markets remain officially closed on Monday on account of `Gudi padva' festival. In the kerb transactions, ground nut oil ruled quiet at Rs 318/320 per 10 kg for inferior quality while superior oil was placed higher at Rs 325/330 per 10 kg. In Gujarat, on the other hand, groundnut oil slide from Rs 525 to Rs 522 per 15 kg.
Imported palm oil here opened at Rs 239/240 but later on advanced to Rs 243/244 following market talks that Union government may impose anti-dumping duty shortly. However, in the absence of any confirmation, prices slipped thereafter to Rs 241/242 per 10 kg late in the evening.
