Malaysia forced to cut palmolein prices
After holding to its ground against the latest duty increase on the import of RBD (refined, bleached and deodorised) palmolein oil for nearly three weeks Malaysia has finally succumbed to the pressure of its huge inventory and has started dropping prices since March 20, 2001.

Government to simplify levy structure for the textile sector
The government is keen to find measures to make the levy structure on the textile industry more simple. This was announced by the Union Textile Minister, Kashiram Rana at the export award function of the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) in Mumbai on Saturday.

Tea Board comes under CAG scrutiny
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has found discrepancies in calculation of assets, liabilities, receipts and revenues of Tea Board for 1999-2000 and has not ruled out frauds and misappropriations.
