New Delhi, March 15: Peeved by `inadequate' compensation package in lieu of advancing the end of its monopoly in ISD, Videsh Sanchar Nigam (VSNL) on Thursday asked government for a revenue package and other incentives before going ahead with the privatisation of the telecom giant."What we have got so far. Government should give us the revenue collected by it from private operators in ISD communication over the next five years," VSNL chief SK Gupta said in an interview. (PTI)sting out a host of suggestions for compensating the corporation whose monopoly would end next year against the earlier schedule of 2004, Mr Gupta said it would be in the overall interest of the country that government get optimal prices for divesting its stake in the PSU.
Mr Gupta's demands assume significance in the face of government decision to sell 25 per cent of its equity to a strategic private partner along with management control.
