Mumbai, March 15 : An award function for `Cutting Edge 2000', a readers' choice award instituted by HT Tech4U, a weekly technology feature from Hindustan Times, will be held in Delhi on March 23, 2001 at Hotel Taj Palace. The awards will be given away by Union information technology minister Pramod Mahajan.The constitution of these awards is an effort to identify the ten most significant IT products for the year from the consumers point of view. The survey questions consumers on the best products of the year under numerous categories. The categories for the year 2000 were-best PC, best Laptap, best Laser Printer, best PC monitor, best Inkjet printer, best fax machine, best UPS, best cell phone, best scanner and best Digital camera.
The `Cutting Edge 2000' survey was carried in key national level newspapers and magazines. The survey was carried out and analysed by a an independent organisation Iris software, International software services consultants who specialise in software data and analysis. Iris has an affiliation with the Electronics & Software Export Promotion Council of India (ESC).
