Franklin Templeton to pick stake in Sonata Software

Bangalore, March 15 : Bangalore-based Sonata Software Ltd has announced that US-based Franklin Templeton will be acquiring a strategic stake in Sonata as part of its strategy to leverage technology to build its growing global investment management business. Franklin Templeton has proposed to invest in Sonata shares for a total consideration of Rs 27.51 crore. Sonata will shortly approach its shareholders for the approval of fresh equity shares to Franklin Templeton equivalent to 4.9 per cent of the expanded equity.
