Bangalore: HCL Infosystems Ltd, has set up an off-shore development centre at its Noida software development facility for Stratech Systems Singapore. HCL Infosystems chairman and CEO Ajai Chowdhry said the company was making a conscious effort to increase its revenue from ODC's in the coming years. As per the balance sheet of the previous year, 40 to 50 per cent of its services revenue came from on-site projects, he said. However Mr Chowdhry refused to provide a figure on the quantum of revenue from the ODCs in the coming years. "We want to get as much as possible from this stream," he said, refusing to fix a target. At present the company has seven ODCs in the country. The Singapore-based Stratech is a technology and systems developer with strong presence in 3D computer design, medical systems technologies and intelligent transportation systems. The two companies have signed the agreement for four years. Stratech chairman and CEO David KM Chew said, "as an aspiring global technology player, business expansion into new markets is the way forward for us. Unlike other major IT companies, the bulk of whose revenues come from the overseas market, more than 70per cent of HCL Infsy's revenues come from within the country. With this we see great a potential in marketing our technologies in India." According to Mr Chowdhry the ODC for the Singapore would have a minimum of 20 people and the number would go up as per the requirement. "We look forward to a regular inflow of high-end technology business from them. Besides this association will also open up endless possibilities for us, in both transport and health care verticals", he added. Mr Chowdhry said the company is focussed on a single window enterprise solutions in key vertical segments like telecommunications, manufacturing, finance and banking, government, transportation and utilities.
