New Delhi, March 12: India has interpreted Mr Kofi Annan's statement in Islamabad as an indicator of changing international attitude on the Jammu and Kashmir issue``India wants peace and everyone accepts this approach. A change in the international attitude on the Kashmir issue is taking place and Mr Annan's statement is a clear reflection of this," Prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee stated in the Parliament.
The official spokesperson of the external affairs ministry also said: ``We believe that the reported comments of the UN secretary-general are clear and self explanatory. India too has been consistently calling upon Pakistan to reaffirm its commitment to the Simla agreement and the Lahore Declaration.''
