The Centre has appointed Mr K Shenbagaraman, as New India Assurance's new director. He is posted in the company's headquarters as GM for two years. He was earlier looking after the company's marketing and HR departments.Exim research award announced

Taxation Laws Bill gets Parliament nod
The Taxation Laws (amendment) Bill, 2001, got parliamentary approval on Monday with the Rajya Sabha passing the measure. It will allow the govt to levy a two per cent quake-related surcharge on direct taxes.
