Blueshift sets up training unit
The Atlanta-based software solution provider Blueshift has set-up a new training division, at its offshore facility in Chennai as part of its backward integration strategy. Blueshift is currently engaged in software exports. The company's service portfolio, includes web page design and hosting, data format conversion and deliverables-based software design, a company statement said.

Leyland supply of LRVs
Ashok Leyland has commenced the supply of its specially developed light recovery vehicles (LRVs) to the Indian Army. The first batch of 50 LRVs, from a total order of over 500 vehicles, was delivered recently. Friday Corp buys Matrix Friday Corporation, a provider of end-to-end content solutions has acquired Matrix Information services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. Kotak Mahindra has separately taken a 7.5% equity stake in Friday through its 100% subsidiary Kotak Mahindra Investments.

Tata Chem fire put out
The Tata Chemicals plant at Mithapur which caught fire in the morning has been extinguished. According to the company press release, there has been no loss of life and all personnel are accounted for and are safe. While the extent of damage is being assessed, the fire was contained in the same building that initially caught fire - the powerhouse. The company also cleared runours in this regard.
