New Delhi : Wheat export is going as per plan, having already touched a million tonne and another million tonne slated to be exported by April this year."Government is optimistic of achieving the current fiscal's target of exporting 2 million tonne of wheat by April this year, having already shipped half the amount, including 3.5 lakh tonne to Iraq," Secretary, Minister of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, RD Kapur said here. Speaking after launching a portal of Wheat Products Promotion Society, he also said India would soon begin export of wheat products, for which there was a sizeable market.
Minimum suport price of foodgrains should be fixed keeping in mind the emerging liberal scenario but the concept could not be done away with, he added.
