Cybiz to launch e-CRM package in Singapore

Shalini Dagar
New Delhi : Cybiz Technologies Limited, the technology and contact centre service organisation, is banking on the international launch of its customer relationship management (CRM) package to turn in revenues to the tune of $8-10 million in the first operative financial year.

Cybiz is planning to launch its e-CRM package in Singapore (Customer Contact Conference) in mid-March, 2001. The company is pinning hopes on this software which was soft-launched in India about three months ago. Post-Singapore launch, the company hopes to target the players in the financial arena such as banking, insurance, brokerage etc in the key markets of Middle East, the USA and the UK markets. "We are planning to sell around 5,000 user licences in the first year and hope to generate $8-10 million dollars in revenues," said the CEO, Mr Rajesh Kashyap. In the second stage Cybiz plans to take on Australia and New Zealand.

The company funded by its promoters and angel investors is planning to invest under $10 million in its venture in the CRM business. According to its founder and president Mr Sam Chopra the ratio has been roughly 1:4 in development of the product and marketing. According to Mr Chopra, though the company as of now does not need any extra funds, however, once the worldwide launch of CRM gets going, the company will eventually turn to venture capitalists.

Cybiz wishes to position itself in the mid-corporate segment (by targeting the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the local corporate groups), just a peg lower than the big players like Kana or Siebel which target the enterprise segment, said Mr Chopra.

"Most of the companies do not understand the CRM space, which means that the pricing sometimes is too high compared to what the market can support," said Mr Chopra. "We are hoping that the competitive pressures will force these companies to convert to our projects." The company also is planning to lauch a 800-1000 seat call centre in April 2001.
